Somewhere in the distance, a middle manager is printing out a “Star Employee” certificate on cardstock. A regional supervisor is making an announcement to a team they see once a quarter, letting them know that the company doubled its profit this year, thanks to them, and their hard work will be rewarded with a pizza party (not to exceed $60). A top performer is picking from a spiff catalog after they adjust their plastic “Employee of the Month” frame on the wall.
Now, we don’t have any of those awards. This is not the Dundies, after all. All we can do is highlight good people doing good in the world of work and make sure you know all about that work. Meet Natalie Hoop, our Featured Maximizer of Shareholder Value for April 2026! We dig Natalie because she’s out here with a whole career centered around helping people demand more from their working life, and then giving them the steps to go and actually get it. We also love that she helps people reframe the narratives they’ve been told for (likely) their whole working life. We can’t give her a pizza party, but we CAN share this interview:
So Natalie, what do you do? What’s your role and your company?

Tell us about yourself - what’s the elevator pitch about YOU?
I coach experienced leaders to stop building another job and start building a fractional business that actually works. Most fractionals leave corporate expecting freedom and end up in the same trap with worse benefits. I fix that with the mindset, pricing, positioning, and go to market plan that corporate never taught them.
What’s one topic you consider yourself an absolute expert in?
Why experienced leaders undercharge and why it has nothing to do with the market and everything to do with beliefs they carried out of corporate that were never true to begin with.
Are there any new, exciting projects you’re working on?
I just launched The Fractional Business Diagnostic — a 60 minute session where I look at your offers, pricing, positioning, and pipeline from the outside and give you a written action plan for the three specific things holding your business back. Most people walk away realizing the problem they thought they had was not the real problem at all. Also speaking at Tech Business Community Live in August.
What kind of work setup do you prefer?
Work from home/remote
What is a topic you’re passionate about when it comes to the world of work? What is one thing you wish more people knew or talked about in business, technology, professional settings, or even just the business OF work?
The cage most professionals feel stuck in was never locked. They just believed it was. I went fractional after being laid off, underpriced my first role, drove a 238% sales increase for a client paying me a third of what I was worth, lost my mother, got fired the next day, and rebuilt from scratch. The beliefs that kept me small were never mine to begin with and neither are yours.
What is your #1 work pet peeve?
Watching talented experienced leaders charge half of what they are worth because someone told them to be grateful for what they have. You are not starting over. You are starting better.
What should we know about your work? Tell us what your big message is for this interview:
If you are a fractional leader or thinking about going fractional and something feels off, your pricing, your pipeline, your positioning, I just opened spots for The Fractional Business Diagnostic. 60 minutes. Written action plan. $397. DM me on LinkedIn and let's figure out what is actually holding you back.
Before we wrap it up, tell us your funniest (or best! or worst!) story about work. It could be a terrible incentive gift for all your hard work, a mortifying Zoom moment, a satisfying quitting story…whatever you’ve got.
I found out I was making a third of what my predecessor made — after I had already driven a 238% sales increase in 30 days for that same client. He had the money the whole time. I just never asked for it because I had convinced myself I was not worth it yet. That moment changed everything. It is also why I now spend every day making sure other fractionals never have to learn that lesson the hard way.
